Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessment and care in high-acuity emergency settings
- Administer medications and treatments with precision while maintaining sterile protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and case managers
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system within 24 hours
- Maintain inventory and equipment in trauma bays and critical care areas
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives
- Respond effectively to rapid response and code blue situations
Qualifications
- Valid NY State RN license with minimum 3 years ED experience
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN candidates with 5+ years ED experience considered
- Proficiency in electronic health records (Epic EMR preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to handle high-pressure situations with composure
- Experience with trauma protocols and rapid assessment techniques
- Excellent communication skills with diverse patient populations
