Responsibilities
- Assess, triage, and stabilize emergency patients using systematic evaluation protocols
- Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions per physician orders
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during trauma codes and critical care events
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system
- Educate patients/families on discharge plans and preventive care
- Maintain strict compliance with JCAHO and OSHA regulations
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and code response drills
Qualifications
- Current Illinois RN license (compact license accepted)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; ADN with 3+ years ED experience considered
- BLS, ACLS, TNCC, and ENPC certifications required
- Minimum 2 years emergency or critical care nursing experience
- Proficiency in electronic health records (Epic preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to perform rapid assessments and prioritize care
- Strong communication skills during high-stress situations
