Responsibilities
- Provide rapid assessment and intervention for critical patients in high-acuity emergency situations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and paramedics
- Administer medications, treatments, and life-saving interventions per protocols
- Document patient encounters accurately in Epic EMR system
- Mentor junior staff and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with JCAHO and state nursing regulations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois (or compact state)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certifications required
- Minimum 2 years ED experience preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
- Strong critical thinking and de-escalation skills
- Experience with trauma codes and rapid response teams
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
