Responsibilities
- Monitor and assess patient vitals, symptoms, and medical history to ensure immediate intervention when necessary.
- Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
- Provide emotional support and health education to patients and their families during critical times.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation.
- Respond swiftly to code blue emergencies and cardiac arrest situations.
- Ensure the patient environment is safe, clean, and conducive to recovery.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered with relevant experience.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Critical Care Unit (ICU/CCU) or equivalent high-acuity setting.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks, including lifting patients.
