Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to critically ill patients, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing complex procedures.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.
- Manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and other critical care equipment.
- Educate patients and their families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
- Respond rapidly and effectively to changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate emergency interventions.
- Maintain accurate and thorough patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in unit-based and hospital-wide quality improvement initiatives and committees.
- Mentor new nurses and contribute to a positive, supportive work environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in an ICU, Critical Care, or Emergency Department setting.
- BLS, ACLS certifications required; PALS certification preferred.
- Demonstrated expertise in critical thinking, problem-solving, and advanced clinical skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
