Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for post-cardiac surgery patients and those with acute cardiac conditions
- Monitor vital signs, ECG readings, and administer cardiac medications with precision
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health management and medication protocols
- Document patient assessments and interventions accurately in electronic health records
- Respond effectively to cardiac emergencies using ACLS protocols
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards
Qualifications
- Current RN license in Illinois (or compact state license)
- BSN degree with 2+ years of acute care nursing experience
- ACLS/BLS certifications required; CCRN preferred
- Demonstrated expertise in cardiac monitoring and emergency interventions
- Exceptional critical thinking and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced clinical environments
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous learning
- Proficiency in Epic EMR system
