Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for post-cardiac surgery patients in ICU setting
- Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data with advanced ECG interpretation skills
- Administer medications and perform complex interventions including ventilator management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health and recovery protocols
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems and adhere to regulatory standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and code response teams
Qualifications
- Current Illinois RN license (required)
- BSN degree or higher (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience with cardiac focus
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (mandatory)
- Advanced ECG interpretation skills and hemodynamic monitoring expertise
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response capabilities
- Experience with Epic EMR system preferred
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy skills
