Responsibilities
- Provide advanced cardiac monitoring and interventions including vasoactive drips, ventilator management, and temporary pacemakers
- Collaborate with cardiologists and surgeons during emergency procedures and post-operative recovery
- Implement evidence-based cardiac protocols and participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards
- Mentor new nurses and participate in unit-based training programs
Qualifications
- Active New York State RN license (required)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (mandatory)
- Minimum 2 years critical care experience with cardiac focus
- Strong proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation
- Excellent communication skills with ability to de-escalate high-stress situations
- Experience with Epic EMR system preferred
