Responsibilities
- Provide specialized cardiac critical care monitoring and interventions for post-op cardiac patients
- Administer advanced medications and perform complex procedures including arterial line management
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans
- Utilize electronic health records to document assessments and interventions with precision
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
- Respond rapidly to emergency situations including cardiac arrests and rapid response activations
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Illinois (or compact state)
- BSN degree required; MSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years ICU experience with cardiac specialty focus
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Strong proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Demonstrated ability to work in high-acuity, fast-paced environments
- Excellent communication skills and emotional resilience
