Responsibilities
- Provide advanced nursing care for critically ill cardiac patients including post-operative recovery and acute cardiac conditions
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic parameters, and vital signs
- Administer medications, perform complex procedures, and manage ventilator support
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Educate patients and families on cardiac health, medications, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuous professional development
Qualifications
- Valid New York State RN license (required)
- BSN degree (MSN preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of ICU/CCU experience with cardiac specialty
- ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (required)
- Proficiency in ECG interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient safety
