Responsibilities
- Monitor and manage critically ill cardiac patients using advanced hemodynamic monitoring systems
- Administer specialized cardiac medications and perform emergency interventions (defibrillation, intubation)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans for post-cardiac surgery patients
- Provide family-centered education on cardiac conditions, medications, and recovery protocols
- Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives and clinical research trials
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure regulatory compliance (JCAHO, AACN)
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Massachusetts with minimum 2 years critical care experience
- BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
- ACLS/PALS preferred; willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred
- Expertise in ventilator management, arterial line monitoring, and intra-aortic balloon pumps
- Demonstrated excellence in rapid assessment of cardiac emergencies
- Strong communication skills for high-stress family interactions
