Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care for post-cardiac surgery patients in 12-bed ICU
- Administer advanced cardiac medications and manage hemodynamic monitoring
- Perform rapid response interventions for cardiac emergencies
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team including cardiologists and perfusionists
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and research projects
- Mentor new staff through our preceptorship program
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Massachusetts (or compact state)
- BSN degree (MSN preferred)
- 3+ years ICU experience with cardiac specialization
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Experience with intra-aortic balloon pumps and ventricular assist devices
- Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication and patient advocacy abilities
