Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments and prepare for cardiac catheterization procedures
- Administer medications and monitor patient vital signs during interventions
- Operate advanced imaging equipment including angiography systems
- Document procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Collaborate with cardiologists and interdisciplinary care teams
- Ensure strict adherence to sterile techniques and safety protocols
- Provide patient education and post-procedure care instructions
Qualifications
- Current Illinois RN license required
- BSN degree with 2+ years cath lab experience preferred
- BLS and ACLS certifications mandatory
- Experience with arterial sheath removal and hemostasis devices
- Strong knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work rotating weekends and on-call shifts
