Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive merchandise plans by category, store, and season, aligning with company financial goals and strategic objectives.
- Analyze sales trends, inventory performance, and market data to identify opportunities and risks, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Manage the open-to-buy (OTB) process, ensuring optimal inventory levels, maximizing sell-through, and minimizing stockouts.
- Collaborate closely with Buying, Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to execute merchandise strategies and seasonal assortments.
- Forecast future sales and inventory needs, making data-driven recommendations for promotions, markdowns, and replenishment.
- Conduct post-season analysis, evaluating the effectiveness of plans and informing future planning cycles.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Merchandising, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in merchandise planning within the retail industry, preferably in fashion or apparel.
- Proven expertise in retail math, financial planning, and inventory management principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data modeling) is essential.
- Experience with retail planning software (e.g., JDA, Oracle Retail, Blue Yonder) is highly preferred.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating across departments.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
