Responsibilities
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including inbound freight, outbound distribution, and inventory management.
- Develop and implement strategic warehouse and transportation workflows to reduce costs and improve delivery times.
- Lead, mentor, and evaluate a team of logistics coordinators, dispatchers, and warehouse staff.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with carriers, freight forwarders, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Utilize Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and ERP software to track metrics and generate performance reports.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, customer service, and procurement teams to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and deploy continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management.
- Demonstrated experience leading and scaling high-performing operational teams.
- Deep understanding of DOT regulations, freight classifications, and customs compliance.
- Proficiency in modern WMS, TMS, and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan Associates).
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capable of building strong vendor relationships.
- APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP) or Lean Six Sigma certification is highly preferred.
