Responsibilities
- Perform high-complexity cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures.
- Lead and mentor a surgical team, including fellows, residents, and nursing staff.
- Oversee patient care protocols from pre-operative assessment through post-operative recovery.
- Drive department performance metrics and ensure adherence to institutional quality standards.
- Participate in clinical research trials and contribute to medical publications.
- Collaborate with cardiology, anesthesiology, and ICU teams to ensure holistic patient outcomes.
- Represent the department in hospital governance and strategic planning initiatives.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Valid Massachusetts Medical License or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum 8 years of post-residency experience in a high-volume surgical environment.
- Proven track record of departmental leadership and clinical administrative experience.
- Expertise in minimally invasive robotic-assisted cardiac surgery.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to manage diverse clinical teams.
