Responsibilities
- Perform a high volume of complex cardiovascular surgical procedures including bypass grafts and valve replacements.
- Provide clinical leadership and oversight to the multidisciplinary surgical team.
- Develop and implement evidence-based surgical protocols to improve patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with cardiologists and anesthesiologists for pre-operative and post-operative management.
- Lead research initiatives and contribute to clinical publications in peer-reviewed journals.
- Mentor residents and fellows in advanced surgical techniques.
- Participate in on-call rotations and emergency surgical interventions.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in clinical cardiac surgery.
- Proven track record in surgical research and leadership.
- Exceptional bedside manner with a focus on patient communication.
- Eligibility for academic appointment at affiliated medical schools.
