Responsibilities
- Lead complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary heart team to develop patient-specific treatment plans.
- Supervise and mentor surgical residents and junior staff members within the department.
- Participate in departmental clinical research initiatives and contribute to medical publications.
- Maintain excellence in pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient care.
- Lead quality improvement protocols to ensure the highest standard of safety and efficacy.
- Represent the department in hospital-wide leadership committee meetings.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted Massachusetts medical license.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of clinical experience in high-volume cardiac surgery.
- Proven track record in successful complex cardiovascular operations.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a clinical department.
- Proficiency in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques.
