Responsibilities
- Lead complex open-heart surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement, and aortic surgery.
- Direct the multidisciplinary cardiovascular surgical team to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and clinical outcomes.
- Mentor junior surgeons, residents, and fellows within our academic fellowship program.
- Implement and oversee innovative surgical protocols and minimally invasive techniques.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, perfusionists, and anesthesiologists to manage perioperative care.
- Engage in medical research initiatives and contribute to clinical publications.
- Maintain excellence in documentation and compliance with hospital and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery.
- Valid Massachusetts Medical License or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of 8 years of post-residency surgical experience in a high-volume center.
- Demonstrated expertise in minimally invasive cardiac surgery and TAVR procedures.
- Proven leadership experience managing surgical departments or specialized teams.
- Strong commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to manage high-pressure environments.
