Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiovascular procedures, including CABG, valve repairs, and aortic surgery.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of residents, fellows, and nursing staff.
- Oversee clinical protocols to ensure adherence to high-quality safety and care standards.
- Collaborate with cardiology, anesthesiology, and radiology departments for comprehensive patient management.
- Lead weekly morbidity and mortality conferences to discuss clinical outcomes and process improvements.
- Participate in departmental strategic planning and resource allocation.
- Contribute to clinical research and academic publications to foster innovation in the field.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Current Board Certification in Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of clinical experience in a high-volume hospital setting.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Proven record of leadership, academic contribution, and collaborative research.
- Expertise in minimally invasive cardiac surgical techniques is highly preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead high-stakes surgical environments.
