Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiovascular procedures, including CABG, valve repairs, and aortic surgery.
- Lead and mentor a team of associate surgeons, fellows, and nursing staff to ensure clinical excellence.
- Oversee departmental surgical protocols and quality improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with interventional cardiology teams to develop integrated treatment plans.
- Participate in clinical research trials and contribute to medical journal publications.
- Manage patient pre-operative evaluations and long-term post-operative care.
- Foster a culture of safety, empathy, and innovation within the cardiac department.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Thoracic or Cardiac Surgery.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of clinical experience in high-volume cardiac surgery centers.
- Active medical license in the State of Massachusetts (or ability to obtain).
- Proven track record of successful departmental leadership and staff management.
- Proficiency in robotic-assisted surgical platforms (Da Vinci certification preferred).
- Strong research portfolio with a history of peer-reviewed contributions.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and commitment to multidisciplinary collaboration.
