Responsibilities
- Perform complex adult cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery.
- Lead multidisciplinary surgical rounds and contribute to complex case management decisions.
- Mentor surgical residents and fellows, fostering a culture of academic and clinical excellence.
- Oversee the implementation of new surgical techniques and clinical protocols.
- Collaborate with interventional cardiologists to develop comprehensive patient care pathways.
- Maintain impeccable documentation and adherence to JCAHO and hospital safety standards.
- Participate in clinical research and present findings at national medical conferences.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of clinical experience in high-volume cardiac surgical settings.
- Proven track record of leadership and peer mentorship in a surgical department.
- Expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted cardiac surgical techniques.
- Strong commitment to patient-centered care and evidence-based medicine.
