Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery.
- Lead multidisciplinary clinical rounds and contribute to treatment planning for high-risk patients.
- Oversee departmental quality initiatives and ensure compliance with JCAHO and hospital safety standards.
- Mentor surgical residents, fellows, and junior staff to foster academic and professional growth.
- Drive research and clinical trials, contributing to the advancement of cardiovascular medicine.
- Collaborate with interventional cardiologists to provide integrated, evidence-based care.
- Manage departmental resources and participate in strategic planning for surgical service lines.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the State of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of post-residency experience in a high-volume surgical setting.
- Proven track record of successful clinical outcomes and surgical proficiency.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in managing surgical teams or department heads.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient advocacy and multidisciplinary collaboration.
