Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair, and aortic surgery.
- Lead multidisciplinary surgical teams during high-acuity interventions.
- Develop and implement evidence-based surgical protocols to enhance patient safety.
- Mentor surgical residents and junior medical staff on advanced surgical techniques.
- Conduct preoperative consultations and develop personalized, patient-centric treatment plans.
- Participate in departmental clinical research initiatives and medical board reviews.
- Collaborate with anesthesiology and nursing leadership to optimize operating room efficiency.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Thoracic or Cardiac Surgery.
- Valid medical license to practice in the state of Massachusetts.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in an acute care or trauma center setting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in robotic-assisted thoracic surgery (RATS).
- Strong track record of peer-reviewed clinical research and academic engagement.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
