Responsibilities
- Perform complex cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repairs, and aortic surgery.
- Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of cardiac nurses, perfusionists, and surgical residents.
- Develop and implement evidence-based surgical protocols to improve patient recovery and clinical outcomes.
- Conduct pre-operative assessments and ensure comprehensive post-operative management of high-risk patients.
- Collaborate with interventional cardiologists to determine the most effective treatment pathways.
- Drive research initiatives and participate in clinical trials within the cardiovascular department.
- Ensure compliance with all hospital safety, ethical, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board Certification in Thoracic or Cardiac Surgery.
- Valid Massachusetts state medical license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Minimum of 7 years of post-residency experience in a high-volume cardiac center.
- Proven expertise in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques.
- Exceptional leadership skills and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure clinical environment.
- Strong commitment to patient communication and multidisciplinary collaboration.
