Responsibilities
- Perform complex adult cardiothoracic surgical procedures, including CABG, valve repair/replacement, and aortic surgery.
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to surgical residents, fellows, and nursing staff.
- Collaborate with cardiologists, anesthesiologists, and intensivists to optimize patient perioperative management.
- Lead departmental quality improvement initiatives to enhance surgical outcomes and safety protocols.
- Participate in clinical research trials and contribute to peer-reviewed academic publications.
- Manage patient consultations and provide comprehensive follow-up care within the clinical setting.
- Oversee surgical scheduling, OR resource allocation, and department workflow efficiency.
Qualifications
- Board Certification in Cardiothoracic Surgery.
- Valid medical license in the state of Massachusetts (or eligibility to obtain).
- Minimum of 7 years of post-residency experience in a high-volume surgical environment.
- Proven expertise in minimally invasive cardiac surgery and robotic-assisted techniques.
- Exceptional leadership skills with a track record of team development.
