As our Lead Sonographer, you will balance technical excellence with clinical leadership, ensuring our echo lab remains at the forefront of cardiac diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality adult transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiograms.
- Serve as a clinical mentor to junior sonographers and imaging staff.
- Oversee quality assurance protocols and maintain compliance with ICAEL standards.
- Collaborate directly with cardiologists to interpret complex structural heart anomalies.
- Manage the daily workflow and scheduling of the echo diagnostic suite.
- Implement new imaging protocols and lead periodic departmental training sessions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot sophisticated diagnostic imaging equipment.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related health science field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a high-volume cardiac setting.
- Proven leadership experience within an acute care or research hospital environment.
- Advanced knowledge of hemodynamic assessment and valve disease quantification.
- Exceptional interpersonal communication skills for patient and stakeholder interaction.
- BLS and ACLS certifications current and valid.
