Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality echocardiographic examinations, including 2D, M-mode, and color flow Doppler imaging.
- Analyze and interpret complex hemodynamic data to provide preliminary reports for cardiologists.
- Coordinate department workflow, ensuring all imaging protocols adhere to ICAEL standards.
- Mentor junior sonographers and provide technical training on emerging imaging modalities.
- Maintain and troubleshoot high-end ultrasound hardware and digital image archiving systems (PACS).
- Participate in multi-disciplinary clinical rounds to review complex patient cases.
- Ensure stringent compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal patient safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related cardiovascular technology program.
- Current RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) credential through ARDMS.
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in a high-volume cardiology facility.
- Demonstrated expertise in Stress Echocardiograms and Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE).
- Exceptional critical thinking skills with the ability to function independently in critical care scenarios.
- Proficiency with modern PACS systems and electronic health record (EHR) integration.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care.
