Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality transthoracic, stress, and transesophageal echocardiograms on adult patients.
- Supervise daily operations of the ultrasound suite to ensure adherence to ICAEL standards.
- Mentor junior sonographers and provide technical oversight for complex diagnostic cases.
- Maintain seamless communication with cardiologists to discuss findings and assist in diagnostic planning.
- Ensure rigorous compliance with HIPAA regulations and safety protocols for diagnostic equipment.
- Coordinate with administrative staff to optimize patient scheduling and workflow efficiency.
- Participate in ongoing departmental quality improvement projects and clinical research initiatives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program (CAAHEP preferred).
- Current ARDMS certification in Adult Echocardiography (RDCS).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a clinical or hospital cardiology setting.
- BLS and ACLS certification required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a high-volume diagnostic environment.
- Proficiency with Philips/GE ultrasound imaging platforms and EMR integration.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on patient-centered care and empathy.
