You will be responsible for overseeing complex logistics operations, managing a diverse fleet of vehicles, and implementing innovative strategies that reduce costs while maximizing service delivery. Responsibilities
- Strategic Fleet Management: Develop and execute operational plans to optimize fleet utilization, ensuring on-time delivery and reduced turnaround times.
- Maintenance & Reliability: Oversee a comprehensive preventive maintenance program, coordinating with vendors to ensure vehicles are road-ready and compliant.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and OSHA regulations. Conduct regular safety audits and manage accident investigations.
- Driver Management: Recruit, train, and mentor professional drivers. Conduct performance evaluations and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
- Cost Optimization: Analyze fuel consumption, maintenance costs, and operational expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities and implement budget controls.
- System Implementation: Utilize fleet management software (e.g., Samsara, Oracle TMS) to track vehicle performance, driver behavior, and route efficiency.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics operations, or a related transportation role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle) and fleet management technologies. Strong data analysis skills.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Deep understanding of federal and state transportation regulations, including Hours of Service (HOS) and vehicle inspection standards.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage external vendor relationships effectively.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data to executive stakeholders.
