Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of a diverse fleet of commercial vehicles to ensure timely delivery schedules.
- Analyze operational data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving strategies.
- Ensure strict adherence to DOT regulations, OSHA standards, and company safety protocols to minimize liability and risk.
- Manage vendor relationships for vehicle repair, parts procurement, and outsourced logistics services.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of dispatchers and drivers to foster a culture of safety and efficiency.
- Coordinate with supply chain planners to optimize load planning and routing efficiency.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fleet management, logistics coordination, or transportation operations.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, FMCSA compliance, and fleet maintenance best practices.
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and fleet dispatch software (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or equivalent).
- Proven track record of managing budgets and negotiating contracts with third-party vendors.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make high-stakes decisions under pressure.
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
