Are you a visionary chef ready to define the future of high-end dining? Aura Culinary Group is seeking an Executive Sous Chef to lead our flagship kitchen in the heart of New York City. We combine seasonal, locally-sourced ingredients with avant-garde techniques to create an unforgettable guest experience.
As our Executive Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Executive Chef to drive operational excellence, mentor a world-class culinary brigade, and maintain our reputation for culinary perfection.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure all dishes meet our elevated quality standards.
- Develop and execute seasonal menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef.
- Train, mentor, and inspire a diverse team of 20+ culinary professionals.
- Manage food cost control, inventory procurement, and waste reduction strategies.
- Maintain impeccable sanitation standards in accordance with NYC Department of Health regulations.
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service flow and communication.
- Supervise station prep, line execution, and final plate inspection during high-volume service.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in fine-dining, high-volume kitchen environments.
- Proven track record of leadership in a Michelin-starred or James Beard recognized kitchen.
- Strong grasp of P&L management, food costing, and labor efficiency.
- Deep passion for seasonal ingredients and modern culinary trends.
- Exceptional ability to remain calm and decisive under extreme pressure.
- Current NYC Food Protection Certificate required.
- Degree from an accredited culinary institution preferred but not required.
