Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive EHS management systems aligned with ISO 14001 and OSHA VPP standards
- Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action implementation
- Conduct facility audits, air quality monitoring, and hazardous waste management oversight
- Design and deliver safety training programs for 200+ employees across shifts
- Ensure compliance with EPA, TCEQ, and DOT regulations through rigorous documentation
- Manage emergency response protocols and coordinate with local authorities
- Analyze EHS data to drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Mentor junior EHS specialists and contractors
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years progressive EHS experience in manufacturing or heavy industry
- OSHA certification (CSP) and 40-hour HAZWOPER training
- Proven expertise in developing EHS management systems and KPI tracking
- Advanced knowledge of EPA regulations and waste stream management
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in EHS software (e.g., Intelex, Enablon)
- Excellent communication abilities for training diverse workforces
- Experience managing budgets and vendor contracts
