Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct regular site audits, hazard assessments, and risk mitigation inspections to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage environmental permits, waste disposal, and emissions reporting to state and federal agencies.
- Facilitate ongoing safety training programs for all personnel, fostering a proactive safety-first culture.
- Serve as the primary liaison for regulatory bodies and external safety auditors.
- Collaborate with operations management to integrate safety metrics into daily manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in an industrial or manufacturing EHS role.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA (1910 standards) and EPA regulations.
- Professional certification preferred (e.g., CSP, CIH, or CHMM).
- Proven ability to influence management and lead diverse teams.
- Strong technical skills in data analysis and safety reporting software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
