Responsibilities
- Deliver advanced critical care nursing interventions including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments with critical thinking skills to anticipate and prevent complications
- Utilize advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) techniques during emergency situations
- Provide compassionate end-of-life care and family support in high-stress environments
- Maintain accurate electronic health records while adhering to strict regulatory standards
- Mentor junior staff and participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Active New York State RN license with current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 3 years of critical care experience in Level I or Level II trauma center
- BSN degree required; MSN or DNP strongly preferred
- Expertise in managing ventilators, arterial lines, and complex hemodynamic monitoring
- Proven ability to remain calm and make critical decisions during emergencies
- Exceptional communication skills for collaborating with families and interdisciplinary teams
- Proficiency in Epic EMR and critical care documentation systems
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and specialty certifications
