Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive merchandise strategies that align with seasonal trends and corporate financial goals.
- Analyze sales performance, inventory turnover rates, and gross margin returns to identify growth opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the Supply Chain and Visual Merchandising teams to ensure optimal stock availability and visual presentation.
- Forecast demand and manage stock levels to minimize excess inventory and reduce markdowns.
- Lead weekly merchandising reviews, presenting data-driven insights to regional directors and store managers.
- Monitor competitor activities and emerging market trends to inform buying decisions.
- Oversee the training and development of junior merchandising staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive experience in retail merchandising, buying, or inventory management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex sales data and market reports.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to travel to retail locations and attend industry trade shows.
