Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary research projects in synthetic biology and nanotechnology
- Design and execute complex experiments using advanced lab equipment (CRISPR, electron microscopy)
- Develop novel biomaterials and drug delivery systems with therapeutic applications
- Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and machine learning tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams to prototype and validate research concepts
- Secure external funding through grant applications and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior scientists and publish findings in high-impact journals
Qualifications
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, or related field with 5+ years industry experience
- Proven expertise in CRISPR gene editing and nanomaterial synthesis
- Strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals (Nature, Science, Cell)
- Experience securing NIH or NSF grants ($500K+ preferred)
- Proficiency in Python/R for data analysis and experimental design
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional research teams
- Knowledge of FDA/EMA regulatory pathways for medical devices
- Patent portfolio with at least 3 granted patents
