Responsibilities
- Lead cutting-edge research in quantum algorithms and error correction methodologies
- Design and execute experimental protocols using cryogenic quantum processors
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate theoretical models into scalable prototypes
- Author peer-reviewed publications and secure federal/state research grants
- Develop patentable innovations in quantum machine learning applications
- Mentor junior researchers and foster cross-functional innovation workshops
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantitative field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research or advanced algorithm development
- Proficiency in Python/C++ and quantum simulation frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq)
- Publication record in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, etc.)
- Demonstrated success securing research funding (NSF, DARPA, etc.)
- Expertise in quantum error mitigation and fault-tolerant architectures
- Strong analytical skills with experimental design and data interpretation capabilities
