Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and optimize complex experimental protocols in molecular biology and genetic engineering
- Lead cross-functional project teams in developing novel therapeutic candidates from concept to preclinical validation
- Analyze and interpret large-scale genomic datasets using advanced bioinformatics tools
- Author technical reports, research papers, and patent disclosures with scientific precision
- Mentor junior researchers and foster a collaborative, innovative laboratory environment
- Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in biotechnology and synthetic biology
- Interface with regulatory affairs to ensure compliance with FDA guidelines and Good Laboratory Practices
Qualifications
- PhD in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience
- Proven expertise in CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing, next-generation sequencing, and protein engineering
- Strong track record of publishing high-impact research in peer-reviewed journals
- Experience leading interdisciplinary R&D projects with measurable deliverables
- Advanced proficiency in bioinformatics tools (Python/R, BLAST, Galaxy) and statistical analysis
- Demonstrated ability to secure and manage research grants or corporate funding
- Excellent communication skills with ability to translate complex concepts for diverse audiences
- Preferred: Experience in therapeutic development or biologics manufacturing
