Responsibilities
- Design and execute experimental protocols for novel material synthesis and characterization
- Lead cross-functional R&D teams to achieve project milestones and deliverables
- Secure and manage federal/state research grants (NSF, NIH, DARPA)
- Develop intellectual property portfolio through patents and technical disclosures
- Collaborate with industry partners for technology commercialization
- Mentor junior researchers and publish high-impact scientific papers
- Stay current with emerging technologies through academic conferences
Qualifications
- PhD in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or related field
- 5+ years of industrial R&D experience with nanotechnology
- Proven track record of peer-reviewed publications (h-index >20)
- Expertise in advanced characterization techniques (TEM, XRD, AFM)
- Strong grant-writing history with $500K+ secured funding
- Experience with ISO 9001 and FDA regulatory compliance
- Exceptional problem-solving and project management skills
