Responsibilities
- Lead multidisciplinary R&D projects in quantum computing algorithms and AI-driven materials discovery
- Design and execute complex experimental protocols in nanotechnology and molecular physics
- Develop patentable innovations with commercialization potential in partnership with engineering teams
- Secure and manage federal research grants (NSF, DARPA) and corporate partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Translate theoretical models into functional prototypes through rapid prototyping cycles
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Materials Science, Computational Chemistry, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience
- Proven track record of publishing in Nature/Science journals or equivalent
- Expertise in quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq) and molecular dynamics simulations
- Experience securing $500K+ in research grants or corporate funding
- Strong proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and machine learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow)
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams through full R&D lifecycle
- Patent portfolio or commercialized research products preferred
