Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and provide direct bedside care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Administer complex medications and manage intravenous drips, ventilators, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment.
- Collaborate with intensivists, surgeons, and multidisciplinary specialists to develop individualized care plans.
- Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR) to ensure continuity and safety of care.
- Lead emergency responses, including ACLS interventions, with precision and calm under pressure.
- Educate and provide emotional support to families navigating critical health diagnoses.
- Mentor junior nursing staff and participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and CCRN certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
- Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress medical environment.
- Exceptional communication skills and a patient-centered approach to care.
- Proficiency with Cerner or similar electronic health record platforms.
