Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care to critically ill patients in the ICU according to physician orders and established clinical protocols.
- Monitor hemodynamic stability, respiratory status, and neurological function continuously.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists, and pharmacists, to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Administer complex medications, manage ventilators, and oversee cardiac monitoring equipment.
- Educate patients and their families regarding medical conditions, treatments, and post-discharge recovery steps.
- Serve as a preceptor and mentor to junior nursing staff and nursing students.
- Maintain precise electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; MSN preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in an ICU or Critical Care setting.
- BLS, ACLS, and CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) certification required.
- Proficiency with EMR systems, specifically Epic or Cerner.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and decisive under extreme pressure.
- Exceptional communication skills and a commitment to patient-centered care.
