Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of complex experimental protocols for next-generation nanomaterials.
- Translate fundamental scientific discoveries into scalable, cost-effective manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate new materials into consumer electronics and medical devices.
- Mentor junior researchers and doctoral interns, fostering a culture of technical excellence and safety.
- Spearhead the intellectual property process, including patent filings and high-impact peer-reviewed publications.
- Utilize advanced computational modeling to predict material behavior and optimize performance parameters.
- Manage R&D project budgets and timelines to ensure milestone delivery for key stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Materials Science, Applied Physics, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in a dedicated R&D environment.
- Proven track record of taking products from initial concept through to pilot production.
- Expert-level proficiency with characterization techniques including SEM, TEM, XRD, and AFM.
- Advanced statistical analysis skills with proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or JMP.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-year research projects with significant autonomy.
- Excellent communication skills, with a history of presenting findings to executive leadership and investors.
