Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for commercial applications
- Lead research projects in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant systems
- Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize quantum circuit implementations
- Publish peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals (Nature, Science, PRL)
- Mentor junior researchers and cross-functional engineering teams
- Secure government and industry research grants (DOE, NSF, DARPA)
- Develop quantum software SDKs for enterprise clients
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related field with quantum focus
- 5+ years of hands-on quantum computing research experience
- Expertise in Qiskit, Cirq, or equivalent quantum programming frameworks
- Published work in quantum algorithm design or quantum information theory
- Strong background in linear algebra, quantum mechanics, and complexity theory
- Experience with quantum hardware platforms (IBM, Rigetti, IonQ)
- Proven grant-writing success with federal research agencies
