Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Lead research in quantum error correction and fault-tolerant system architectures
- Collaborate with hardware team to develop quantum control systems and measurement protocols
- Publish peer-reviewed research and present findings at international conferences
- Secure external research funding through NSF, DARPA, and industry partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and supervise graduate interns
- Translate theoretical advances into patentable quantum computing solutions
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Computer Science, or related quantum field with 5+ years research experience
- Expertise in quantum algorithms (Shor's, Grover's, VQE) and quantum information theory
- Proficiency with quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, Q#) and simulation tools
- Publication record in Nature/Science or equivalent top-tier journals
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability, and statistical mechanics
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum hardware systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences
