Vanguard Design Studio is a premier architecture firm dedicated to creating iconic, sustainable urban landmarks. We are seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Senior Project Architect to lead our high-profile commercial and mixed-use projects in the heart of New York City. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate visionary concepts into buildable, high-performance architecture.
Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design process from conceptual phase through construction administration.
- Manage complex project documentation and ensure strict adherence to building codes and zoning ordinances.
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and civil engineering consultants to maintain design integrity.
- Direct and mentor junior architectural staff and drafters to ensure high-quality output.
- Oversee client communications, budget tracking, and project scheduling to ensure timely delivery.
- Lead project meetings and participate in high-level client presentations and site walkthroughs.
- Ensure project compliance with sustainability certifications, including LEED and WELL standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited university.
- Licensed Architect (RA) in the state of New York or path to licensure.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of professional experience in large-scale commercial architecture.
- Expert-level proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite; Rhino/Grasshopper experience is a plus.
- Deep knowledge of NYC Building Code, ADA standards, and zoning regulations.
- Proven track record in managing project teams and delivering complex construction documents.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a strong design sensibility.
