Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of architectural projects from schematic design through construction administration, ensuring adherence to project goals, budget, and schedule.
- Develop and refine design concepts, collaborate with clients to translate visions into tangible architectural solutions, and present design proposals effectively.
- Oversee the production of high-quality construction documents, specifications, and reports, ensuring compliance with local building codes and industry standards.
- Mentor and guide junior architects and design staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Coordinate with consultants (structural, MEP, landscape, interior designers) and contractors to ensure seamless project integration and execution.
- Conduct site visits, review contractor submittals, and resolve RFI's during the construction phase to maintain design intent and quality.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication, proactive problem-solving, and client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to business development efforts, including preparing proposals, participating in interviews, and representing the firm at industry events.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of progressive professional experience in an architectural firm, with at least 5 years in a project leadership role for complex projects.
- Professional Architectural License (RA) in New York State (or ability to obtain reciprocity).
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Rhino, and Adobe Creative Suite. BIM 360 experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction techniques relevant to NYC.
- Demonstrated experience in all project phases, from conceptual design to construction administration.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
