Nexus Design Collective is seeking a visionary Senior Project Architect to join our award-winning studio in the heart of Manhattan. We specialize in high-performance urban interventions that merge sustainability with avant-garde aesthetics. In this role, you will lead complex multi-million dollar projects from concept through construction administration, ensuring design excellence and technical precision at every milestone.
You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of designers and engineers, pushing the boundaries of what is possible in modern urban architecture. Responsibilities
- Lead the architectural design process for high-rise residential and commercial mixed-use projects.
- Direct and mentor a project team of junior architects and designers to ensure technical accuracy and design integrity.
- Manage client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact throughout the project lifecycle.
- Coordinate with consultants, MEP engineers, and contractors to resolve complex site and structural challenges.
- Oversee the preparation of comprehensive construction documentation and specifications.
- Ensure all project phases comply with NYC building codes, zoning resolutions, and ADA requirements.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure alignment with design intent.
Qualifications
- Professional Degree in Architecture (B.Arch or M.Arch) from an accredited institution.
- Current Registered Architect (RA) license, preferably in the State of New York.
- Minimum of 8-12 years of professional experience in an architectural firm.
- Expert-level proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Rhino; experience with Grasshopper is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable design principles; LEED AP or WELL AP certification highly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing projects over $50M in construction value.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
