Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all phases of architectural projects from initial concept through construction administration, ensuring adherence to design intent, budget, and schedule.
- Develop innovative design solutions and comprehensive technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Serve as the primary client contact, fostering strong relationships and effectively communicating project progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Mentor junior architects and design staff, promoting a culture of learning, collaboration, and design excellence within project teams.
- Ensure all project work complies with relevant building codes, zoning regulations, and other legal requirements.
- Oversee contractor coordination, submittal reviews, and site observations to maintain quality control and design integrity during construction.
- Prepare and present compelling design proposals and project updates to clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Manage project budgets, resourcing, and scheduling to optimize efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in an architectural firm, with at least 3-5 years in a project leadership role.
- Licensed Architect (RA) in New York State or actively pursuing licensure.
- Proficiency in industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign), and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated expertise in sustainable design principles and LEED certification processes is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction methods relevant to New York City projects.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage complex client and team relationships.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality results.
